Get to know
the benefits of the banana for your health.
Banana is the fourth most produced food in the world and
it’s one of the most consumed fruit in Brazil. It’s also
known for the high calcium and potassium value. It is
extremely beneficial for people who practice physical
exercises because it helps to prevent cramps and muscle
soreness. For this reason it’s known as the “Athletes’s food”.
It is originated in the Southeast of Asia, but it is
produced in many other countries, including in Brazil, where
you can find it in different types: banana-da-terra, prata,
maçã, nanica and ouro.
Its price is another fact that contributes for its
consumption. The Nutritionist Dafne Oliveira said “due to
the fact that the banana can be purchased at lower price, it
is always part of Brazilians daily diet”.
Besides, banana brings other benefits to the health, and one
of them is to prevent insomnia. According to Dafne Oliveira,
banana has tryptophan, which is an amino acid precursor to
melatonin, the sleep hormone. So it’s a great idea to eat a
banana in the evening
It is also recommendable to eat a banana after the meals
because it prolongs the satiety and consequently avoid food
cravings.
